Jamboree on the Air - Radio Merit Badge Class

Event Details

The Radio Merit Badge will be offered to registered Scouts at the North Okaloosa Hamfest  and Jamboree on the Air.  

If you register for the Radio Merit Badge class, you are also registered for JOTA

When: Saturday 15 October at 0900am.  Scouts in Uniform get in Free.

Where: Crestview Community Center, 1446 Commerce Dr., Crestview, FL 32539  (Hwy 85 Ferdon Blvd. North near the Crestview Post Office and Library)

Scouts/Adults are needed on Friday to help set up and on Saturday Morning early to help set up and man Jamboree on the Air  Activity Stations. 

 

Also to get on the air early, let the Operator know you are there for the Merit Badge Class.  Will try and get at least 10 minutes of contacts.   

 

Please Get Merit Badge approval and Fill out your MB Blue Card prior to the Class.

Class will Start at 11 AM to 3pm in the back of the Conference Center in the class room.  Try and get there early and make your QSL contacts on the air. 

I will email you a QSL sheet and QSL card contact log sheet and instructions for the GET ON THE AIR,  when you register AND email me at donsnyder@hotmail.com  and your SM/ASM.

Parents/SM are welcome/encouraged to sit in with the Scouts for the class and share the materials. 

Food will be available for purchase at the Hamfest and nearby at MacDonalds etc.

We Will Be Reviewing 1-5 in Class and Working 6 to 9 and  Then Get On The Air.

Student who complete the Merit Badge Requirements will be sponsored for free to take the FCC Technician Class (6 week class one night per week) and If successful in passing the 35 question exam will get a free HAM RADIO and 1 Year Membership in the American Amateur Radio Relay League and North Okaloosa Amateur Radio Club.
