Fall Whitewater 2023

Event Details

Experience Whitewater as a day program! on September 22 or September 23.  9:00 AM until 5:00 PM.  The cost is $30/ day.

Come to experience some of the best Whitewater in the state at Gardner Dam Adventure Base..  Open to all BSA Scouts/Scouters 12 and up, parents, and leaders.

This introduction class is designated for anyone who has always wanted to try whitewater kayaking. The class begins indoors with basic safety instructions and then moves to the water.    A team of certified instructors will assist you with outfitting your gear.  Once outfitted, you will start your experience in the pond, on flat water, learning various rescues and paddle strokes, and building your confidence in whitewater boats.     Here you will learn how to avoid rocks and what to do if you hit a rock, ferrying and turning (peelouts).  You will run the different Sections of the Wolf River.

Be ready to get wet. Scouts need to be a minimum of 12 years of age, have the BSA swimmer classification, and have a completed Medical form.
