Cub Scout Autumn Adventure

Event Details

Join us for Cub Scout Autumn Adventure at Mt. Norris!

The fun begins at 8:30am and goes all day to the closing ceremony at 4pm, and includes lunch. This is a fun-filled day complete with autumn themed activities (Scarecrow building competition to name just one!) plus the usual fun things that happen at camp: archery, BBs, knots, handicrafts - all the good stuff!

Cub Scouts, Leaders, and Families are invited to experience our camp and some of the exciting programs offered during our summer camp schedule. Meet some of the dynamic and enthusiastic camp staff and leadership who make the promise come to life.

Should you want to camp overnight Friday or Saturday, that is an option as well. Reserve your campsite here: Cub Scout Autumn Adventure Camping.  If the campsite you wish to reserve is already booked, do not fret - reach out to Alison Hampson or Mike Higgins and they will connect you with another unit.  (Refer to Event Contacts for their contact information).

BONUS ADULT TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES!

CUB SCOUT ARCHERY AND BB RANGEMASTER TRAINING is being offered onsite. A trained rangemaster is required at all District and Council shooting activities (unit-level activities not allowed), and a rangemaster is required to be present when using our inflatable archery range. The classroom portion of this training will occur Friday evening, the practical (shooting) on Saturday morning. This is a free training, but please register at https://scoutingevent.com/592-88636

BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation), the training that is required of at least one member of your Pack for unit camping, is also in the planning stages for this weekend. Details will follow.
BALOO Training is made up of two parts: an online course available on My.Scouting.org, and an in-person, hands-on course. The online course can be taken at any time prior to the in-person class. You must complete both parts to qualify as a trained outdoor Cub Scout leader. The hands-on course involves camping overnight (after all, that’s what the course is about – camping). You’re going to learn a lot, from cooking to first aid to campfires to hiking to aquatics and much, much more.
