Wood Badge is Scouting America's ultimate leadership training designed to meet the advanced leadership needs of Scouters.

Wood Badge brings together leaders from all areas of Scouting - Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, Sea Scouts, and Venturing. Our mission is to inspire and train adults through world class leadership training that sets an example for youth empowerment.

Circle Ten Council is offering three Wood Badge courses in 2025 to meet the varying schedules and needs of our volunteers, There is a spring, summer and fall course so you may choose the time of year that works best for you.

Three great locations: Our spring course is offered at Camp Wisdom, our summer course is offered at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, and our fall course is offered at Trevor Rees-Jones Scout Camp.

Two convenient schedules: Our spring and fall courses are offered over two weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) to minimize time away from work. The summer course at Philmont offers a week-long experience away from the Texas heat.

Requirements for attending Wood Badge:

  1. Be registered members of Scouting America and age 18 or older.

  2. Have completed the basic position-specific training courses for their Scouting role.

  3. Be capable of functioning safely in an outdoor environment. All participants are required to complete the Philmont Annual Health and Medical Record (Parts A, B, and C) which includes a physical. Part C is required for everyone.

- Week: August 3 at 2:00 p.m. - August 9 at 5:00 p.m.
- Registration Closes: July 4 at 11:00 p.m.
  This is the last date to register or make changes to your registration.

Cost
Adult Participant: $700
- Initial Payment: $200 due upon registration
- Second Payment: $225 due by March 6 at 11:59 p.m.
- Final Payment: $275 due by April 5 at 11:59 p.m.
- Late Payment: Cost increases to $745 on June 27 at 12:00 a.m. if registration not paid in full. You must be paid in full to attend course. 

 

Required Information
The following information will be requested during registration:

  • Scouting Information: Unit Type and Number, Scouting America Member Number
  • Personal Information: First and Last Name, Name to be used on Nametag; Gender
  • Cell phone number, Email Address
  • Medical: Allergies and Dietary Restrictions
  • Emergency Contact: Name, Phone, Email
  • Agree to the requirements for attending Wood Badge
