Veterans of Foreign Wars, Henry J. Thomas Memorial Post 845 Scouts Skills Challenge

10 Skills, 10 Patrols, Cash Prizes!

April 20th, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Cash Prizes will be given out!

Each Troop will be limited to registering one Patrol of 7-10 Scouts, Registration for this event is FREE.

April 20th - Patrols arrive at the VFW - 4601 Lincoln Hwy, Downingtown, PA 19335 by 9:00 AM.

Each Patrol must bring a dining fly or canopy at least 10'x10' and set it up by 9:45 AM.

• 9:00 AM-Arrival & Fly setup,
• Colors posted at 9:45 AM,
• The competition starts at 10:00 AM,
• The competition is over at 12 Noon,
• Free Lunch served for all participating Scouts and 2 leaders 

Stations could include:

• Knot Tying
• Lashings
• First Aid: Bandages
• Nature Identification 
• Rescue Techniques
• Navigation & Map Reading
• Citizenship
• Flag Etiquette
• First Aid: CPR 
• Scout Basics: Oath, Law, etc.

Nothing will be asked of the Scouts that are not in the Scout Handbook.

VFW Post 845 will provide a lunch for up to 10 Scouts in each Patrol and 2 adult leaders from each Troop. Additional lunch meals may be purchased by others such as parents and onlookers.
