Scouts, BSA Maritime Day Camp
Event Details

The French Creek Council, Scouting America is proud to offer our Scouts, BSA Maritime Day Camp, a five-day immersive experience for Scouts ages 14–18, taking place August 10–14, 2026, in Erie, Pennsylvania.
This unique program introduces participants to a wide range of maritime skills and adventures, including kayaking, canoeing, small boat sailing, motorboating, navigation, and environmental science. Scouts will learn in small groups of 9-10, ensuring hands-on instruction, personalized attention, and a safe, supportive environment.
A highlight of the camp is the opportunity for every participant to experience Erie’s maritime heritage firsthand. Scouts will sail aboard the Lettie G. Howard and take part in a custom program at the Presque Isle Lighthouse, connecting history, navigation, and life on the water.
With classes being held at the Bayfront Maritime Center and Presque Isle State Park, this camp showcases the best of Erie’s waterfront while building confidence, leadership, and a lifelong appreciation for maritime activities.
Open to Scouts nationwide, Maritime Day Camp can accommodate up to 90 participants.
Scouts are responsible for providing their own blue cards if taking Merit Badge classes. Due to the nature of these classes, we can not guarantee merit badges will be complete at the end of the camp. You will have contact information for all merit badge counselors and can follow up to complete any requirements needed after camp is complete. If your class requires a scout to have passes their swim test. We will require proof that this is complete.
Please remember this is a Day Camp. Scouts will be responsible for overnight accomodations, breakfast and dinner. Lunch will only be provided if requested and the additional fee is paid.
