SWC Philmont Expedition - 2025

On July 23, 2025, join the Seneca Waterways contingent of Scouts and Scouters who will be traveling together to Cimarron, New Mexico for an adventure at Philmont Scout Ranch.   .

Seneca Waterways is forming 2 crews that will arrive at Philmont on July 27 and head out on July 28 for a 5 day backpacking journey in the mountains of New Mexico. 

Touring on the way to Philmont

On the way to Philmont, the crews will be be flying into Denver, Colorado and touring around Denver and Colorado Springs.  Destinations like:

• Garden of the Gods,
• Air Force Academy,
• Koshare Museum,
• Cave of the Winds,
• Manitou Cliff Dwellings,
• Western Museum of Mining,
• Ghost Town Museum
• and more are being considered.

SWC Philmont 2025 Contingent Costs

$3,350

What this includes:

• 7 Day Philmont Expedition - all meals included.
• Transportation to/from Philmont.
• Lodging while traveling to Philmont.
• Food while traveling.
• 2 - Contingent moisture wicking T-Shirts.
• 1 - Contingent water bottle.
• Pre-Philmont Excursions admission fees.

What is not included:

• Personal gear like backpack, sleeping bag, mess kit, etc.
• Souvenirs.

Registration Deadline is April 1, 2024

Register by April 1, 2024 with a $250 down payment. Full payment is due by February 1, 2025.

Restrictions

• 14 years of Age
• First Class or higher
• Must meet Philmont's weight and fitness restrictions

Crew Make-up

Crew sizes are limited to 12 persons. With 2 crews attending, we can have up to 24 persons register.

• Crew size 12 person maximum.
• 3 to 4 adult leaders.

NOTE: Currently, these are male crews. If we get interest from female adult leaders, we can form a girl crew or venture crew.  If we get a minimum of 5 Girls and 3 Adults for a female crew, we'll request a date for the them.
