Little Buckeroo's Camp **SUSPENDED**

Event Details

This program is meant to help Cub Scouts learn how to behave around horses, horse behaviors, how to lead a horse, discuss parts of a saddle, how to sit properly on a horse, and to become more comfortable while horseback.  On Thursday they youth will have the chance to show parents what they have learned. Parents are not required to stay. A snack is included.

AGE: 8 - 10 year olds

When: June 23rd - June 26th

Time: 8am - 12pm

Price: $250 per youth

Special needs or requests must be disclosed at the time of sign up. You must bring a Health forms A, B, and C with you to camp. There is an attachment of this on your registration.

Day 1

8:00am – Arrive

8:15am – getting to know everyone/How to behave around horses

9:15am – Meet and greet the herd/discussion about feeding horses

10:00am – Snack/craft (trail guides to saddle horses)

10:30am – Trail Guide to show riding demonstration

11:00am – Horse rides in the ring being led by trail guides

12:00pm – Parents pick up

 

Day 2

8:00am – Arrive

8:15am – youth assist in feeding herd/clean barn

9:00am – discuss horse behaviors

10:00am – snack/game (trail guides to saddle horses)

10:30am – youth to assist trail guide in leading horses to the ring

11:30am – Horse rides in the ring being led by trail guides/work on postures while horseback

12:00pm – Parents pick up

 

Day 3

8:00am – Arrive

8:15am – youth assist in feeding herd/clean barn

9:00am – discuss parts of the saddle/game

10:00am – snack/craft

10:15am – youth assist trail guides in saddling horses

11:00am – youth to lead horses to ring assisted by trail guides

11:15am – horse rides in the ring being led by trail guides/review sitting postures on the horse/short game on horseback

12:00pm – Parents pick up

 

Day 4

8:00am – Arrive

8:15am – Discuss horse breeds/decorate horseshoe

9:15am – youth assist in grooming horses

9:30am – snack

10:00am – youth assist trail guides in saddling horses

10:30am – youth to lead horses to riding ring assisted by trail guide

10:45am – Horse ride and games

12:00pm- Pick up
