This event is open to any scout who wants to attend and race their cars against other scouts from all over the district. All Scouts are encouraged to attend and to be in uniform.  

10-10:30a Registration, Inspection and Weigh-in.  We need to have all Scouts registered on time because everything is done electronically—NO LATE ENTRIES. Free for pre-registered scouts or $5 at the door.  A registration fee of $10 applies to non-scouts per car and will be charged to help cover expenses. This fee can be waived with a signed application to join Scouting.

10:45 Rules and Conduct, Pledge of Allegiance

11a Races start! All races will be run on a track with an electronic timer.  Places will be determined by average speed of three heats. Each car will race on each lane of the track once. 

Standard Pinewood Derby rules are in affect for ALL cars. Each car must weigh at most 5 ounces or 141.75 grams. ANYTHING added to increase the weight must be FIXED in place—no moving weights or mercury allowed. Overweight cars will not race—space and tools will be available for last minute adjustments. Cars will be inspected and weight taken at the check-in and will not be handled by participants after check-in.

The car cannot exceed 7 inches long and 2-3/4 inches wide. The car must have a 3/8-inch clearance height between the bottom of the car body and the bottom of the tires to allow for the track. 

All rulings and judgments by the race officials are final.

Back Again This Year! “The Outlaw Class” $10 registration fee

This class is designed for the older scouts…and even Dad and Mom. No design rules for these cars. These cars just need to fit on the track and not contain liquids (fuel, weights), compressed gasses or any explosive fuels (gun powder, rocket engines). Race officials maintain the right to exclude any car that they feel is unsafe or dangerous.
