Great Rivers Fall Camporee 2016

Event Details

Great Rivers District Fall Camporee 2016

Theme - Wilderness Survival

Phillippo Scout Reservation - Upper Level

Friday, September 30 to Sunday, October 2, 2016

Cost is $15 per Scout and $7 per Adult

All activities are focused on wilderness survival, and will require all Scouts to demonstrate their ability to remain safe in challenging conditions.  Each event has been selected to introduce or educate each and every Scout in Scouting skills pertaining to Wilderness Survival, including first aid, shelter building, fire building, and other basic survival techniques.  This Camporee gives every Scout the opportunity to have fun, to demonstrate their skills, to experience new challenges, and fulfill requirements for their Wilderness Survival Merit Badge.

Troops are welcome to invite 2nd year Webelos to come with the Troop. There will not be a separate Webelos program offered. Webelos attendance should fulfill all or a majority of the geologist activity badge and alos fulfill requirements towards the Arrow of Light Award.

The Scrumdiddlyumptious Traveling cooking contest trophy will be renamed the Fred Boulay Memorial Traveling Cooking Contest, in honor of a great Scouter that was always willing to share his knowledge and expertise of outdoor cooking. We encourage units to participate in the third annual traveling cooking contest. Each year the cam[poree has a cuisine challenge of a themed dish. This year's key ingredinet for the cook off dish will be Something that ends with Berry.  The entry can be any dish including any type of Berry. All Units are encouraged to submit one entry. Troop 9224 winner of the 2015 Scrumdiddlyumptious Traveling Award, will be the hosts and judges for this year's event. The unit with the winning dish will take home the traveling trophy until next year's camporee.
