Course #1: BSA Combined Archery & BB Range Master Training

Instruction and certification for adult leaders to supervise fun and safe use of archery and BB ranges within the BSA Cub Scout program.

• Course: BSA Archery & BB Range Master - Covers both certifications in one course.
• Date: Sunday, September 8, 2024
• Time: Check-in at 10:45 a.m., course starts at 11 a.m. and runs until 5:30 p.m.
• Location: Phillippo Warming House & Archery/BB ranges
• Fee: $25
  • Notes: Dress appropriately to be outside on the ranges.  No lunch included - bring snacks or lunch that can be eaten during course.

Course #2a and 2b: BSA Individual Archery and BB Range Master Training

Instruction and certification for adult leaders to supervise fun and safe use of archery ranges within the BSA Cub Scout program.

• Course: BSA Archery and seperate BB Rangemaster
• Date: Saturday, September 21, 2024
• Time: Archery Time:    8:30 a.m. (8:15 check-in) – 11:30 a.m. BB Time:12:30 p.m. (12:15 check-in) – 5:30 p.m.
• Location: Kiwanis Scout Camp - Fox Den
  • Notes: Bring your own lunch. Dress appropriately to be outside on the range.

Course #3:  - Range Quartermaster

When units bring their Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA youth to Northern Star camp ranges, it is all about giving our youth a great experience. They expect to have the range and equipment in good working order.

With all of the other program and facilities responsibilities, Camp Rangers and Camp Masters are stretched thin and range maintenance cannot be a high priority. The Shooting Sports Quartermaster course (CSSQ) is training to build skilled volunteers with knowledge and willingness to learn and fix shooting sports gear in partnership with and support of the camp staff.

• Date: Sunday, November 10, 2024
• Time: Noon - 4:00 PM
• Course size limit: 6 Participants
• Location: Phillippo Scout Camp - Warming House , Field next to Warming House
  • Notes: This is NOT the BSA Rangemaster course.  This course instructs on the proper equipment maintenance of the BB rifles, archery bows, and arrows in use at Northern Star Council.  This course will be strictly in-doors.
