Wilderness First Aid

Wilderness First Aid Training *Day Program

Open to all. This is an excellent course designed to prepare those venturing into the outdoors with critical skills to manage first aid emergencies in the wilderness and is required for any high adventure program such as Philmont, Northern Tier, or other similar programs (the age limit is 14 y/o and older). Training certificate is good for two years. Please note if you are re-certifying.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
Wilderness First Aid (WFA) is the assessment of and treatment given to an ill or injured person in a remote environment where definitive care by a physician and/or rapid transport is not readily available. Participants will learn how to assess, treat, and (when possible) contain emergencies within the scope of their training. Youth and adult Scout leaders age 14 and over are invited to participate and earn their certification. This course is a hybrid training, which means you will do all prerequisites online before arriving. The online course work amounts to approximately 8-10 hours, plus all participants must also have a current/valid CPR/AED certification card or certificate that they must bring with them to become Wilderness First Aid Trained. Registration closes on October 26, 2026, and all registered at this time will receive an email explaining their online course work to be completed and special link to activate their training which must be completed prior to arrival on there chosen course date.
PRE-REQUISITES:
- WFA Online Program Course Certificate
- Valid/Current CPR/AED Certification
(* Both must be brought on the course date to camp in order to satisfactory complete necessary requirements.)
