STEM Shoot! Award Day at Camp Trask

Event Details

Please Join Us for a Day of Innovation, Inspiration, and Exploration!

You are cordially invited to participate in our STEM Shoot! Award Day at Trask Scout Reservation—a full day dedicated to celebrating the bright future of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in Scouting!

This exciting event will feature hands-on activities and the dedication of the Merwyn C. Gill Composite Materials signage in honor of the visionary M.C. Gill, who established this badge to inspire Scouts to explore composites and support STEM fields and related industries through Scouting. The highlight of the day will be rocket design, construction, and launch, giving Scouts the opportunity to earn their STEM Shoot! Award by engaging in workshops centered on Composite Materials, Aviation, and Space Technology.

Highlights Include:

  • Dedication Ceremony honoring Merwyn C. Gill’s legacy—Composite Materials in Scouting
  • Interactive STEM Award and Composite Material Merit Badge completion
  • BBQ lunch
  • Scouts and recognized guest will launch rockets made of composite materials

Come celebrate the spirit of discovery and innovation, and help us inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers!   The event is expected to fill up quickly so be sure to register as soon as possible!  There is a strict limit of 90 scouts for this event and there will not be a waiting list.

We have a full day, so please arrive on time (15 minutes early) to ensure you can complete the Merit Badge and STEM award requirements.
