(IOLS) Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills - CWSC
Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) is a hands-on training course for adult leaders in Scouts BSA, designed to equip them with the practical skills needed to lead outdoor programs safely and effectively. It's a required training for all Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters, but open to all registered adults. IOLS covers essential outdoor skills, leadership principles, and teaching methods related to Scouts BSA rank advancements.
Date: June 6-8, 2025
The site will be open starting at 7:00pm to 10:00pm Friday June 6th for people wishing to spend the night on Friday. Registration and check-in starts 8:00am - 8:45am Saturday and ends Sunday at noon.
This is an overnight event. Accommodations can be made for participants with conflicting schedules, but a minimum of one overnight tent camping is required to pass the course.
Location: Cushman Watt Scout Center, 2333 Scout Way, Los Angeles, CA 90026
There will be designated sleeping area for participants
Due to spacing, tents larger than 4-person, will not be allowed.
Meals:
The following meals will be provided
- Friday night cracker-barrel,
- Saturday breakfast, trail lunch and dinner.
- Sunday breakfast
Course Fees:
- $50 - Per Participant
- Fees collected will cover meals and consumable materials used during the course. Course fees are required by all parties
