ARROW OF LIGHT WOODS:
AOL Woods (FKA Webelos Woods) is a overnight camping experience for Arrow of Light Scouts and a parent or guardian. AOL Woods is designed to provide scouts and their adults the opportunity to meet scouts and adult leaders from local Scouting America Troops, participate in scouting activities, learn about and actively participate in the patrol method and get a jump start on the AOL requirements. For Troops, AOL Woods is an outdoor adventure designed to engage Arrow of Light scouts in fun and useful scout skills that will prepare them to bridge into a Scout Troop. AOL Woods is the perfect opportunity for Troops to support AOL scouts and their parents as they prepare to bridge into Scouts. It is also an excellent opportunity for your Troop to present leadership and outdoor skills, and to use the EDGE method.

LOCATION: El Dorado Park - 7550 E Spring St, Long Beach, CA 90815

CUB SCOUT COST:

• $60.00 – per Webelos/AOL Scout - includes camp fee, patch, food, swag
• $50.00 – per Cub Scout Adult - includes camp fee, patch, & food

TROOP/STAFF COST:

• $30.00 – per Scout or Staff w/meals (runs a station or midway) - includes camp fee, patch, meals 
• $15.00 – per Scout or Staff no meals (runs a station or midway) - includes camp fee, patch, no meals (Troop cooks own meals) 
• $0 – Scout or Staff Saturday only (runs station or midway) - no patch, no camping, no meals

We need Patrol Leaders on Friday and Saturday

• Scout Patrol Leader with meals $30
• Scout Patrol Leader without meals $15

TROOP ADVENTURE SIGN UP:
Here is a list  of Adventure Stations Troops can sign up for. For a more detailed explanation of the adventures please refer to the Troop Leader Guide.  Troops can indicate which adventure they want to do on the participants page.

• AOL Fishing (requirement 4, 5 & 7) - This adventure focuses on the AOL Fishing adventure and should cover requirements 4 & 5. 
• AOL Outdoor Adventurer (requirement 1 & 2) - this adventure focuses on the AOL Outdoor Adventurer adventure and should cover requirements 1 & 2. 
• AOL First Aid (requirement 3 & 4) - this adventure focuses on the AOL First Aid adventure and should cover requirements 3 & 4 
• AOL Knife Safety (requirements 1, 2, 3 (sharpening) and 4 (marshmallow stick) - his adventure focuses on the AOL Knife Safety adventure and should cover requirements 1, 2, 3 
• Scout and Tenderfoot Knot Skills - this station should focus on the knots required for scout rank. . 
• First Class Tripod Lashings - Learn how to set up a Tripod by lashing poles together.  Learn where you may use a Tripod or need to lash poles. 
• Tenderfoot Flag Etiquette - this station should cover the Tenderfoot requirements, 7a. Second class 8b can also be included if there is time. 
• Tenderfoot First Aid - this first aid station should cover Tenderfoot first aid rank requirement 4a. 
• Fire Safety - Discuss the three fuel types. Demonstrate how to ensure safety while building a fire 
• Astronomy - Topics covered last year included learning about the moon phases and how to find the North Star. Time to look in the telescope at night was made available to AOL Scouts. 
• Team Building Games - This station should be fun and engaging with games and skill challenges. Consider referencing the Team Building Activities in the Troop Program Resources for ideas. 
• Midway

• Campfire Program Leader - Unit sign up.
