Leave No Trace Trainer-Oct 2021

Event Details

The Golden Gate Area Council is offering a Leave No Trace Trainer course on October 30-31, 2021 at Skyline Wilderness Park (2201 Imola Ave, Napa, CA 94559).

Participants in this 16 hour (plus an overnight) Leave No Trace Trainer Course will learn about Leave No Trace, TREAD Lightly! and Wildland Ethics including teaching techniques necessary for disseminating these critical Outdoor Ethics skills to their Scouting units.

At the completion of the course, all participants will be recognized by the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics as Leave No Trace Trainers and qualified to train Scouts and the community-at-large to be conservation minded.

The cost will be $25 through October 15 and $30 thereafter.  All participants must be at least age 14 by October 30th, and must be registered members of the BSA.  The maximum class size is 20 students.

All Covid-19 safety requirements of the Golden Gate Area Council, BSA and Napa County will be observed and masks will be mandatory.

This course will be entirely outdoors, in a quasi backpacking format involving an overnight campout and a day hike.  Participants will plan, bring and cook their own meals and each participant will be required to give a fifteen minute presentation using the skills they have learned and materials they prepared before the course.
